DataFlow is a production-tracking system that manages all types of data(text, graphics, images, ads, pages, etc.), tracks database elements andevents, and provides informational reports. It consists of Cascadedatabase file server software running with a SYBASE(R) relationaldatabase, on Sun(TM) hardware platforms, and the Sun UNIX operatingsystem. The system also includes Cascade software for Macintosh(R) andPC client workstations that permits access to the DataFlow database.DataFlow system users include publishers, printers, retailers, and pre-press trade shops who require a client-server system, and an SQL databasethat allows them to expand their use of popular desktop publishingsoftware; with controls for data management, job tracking, and work flowmanagement. DataFlow users include New York Newsday, Star Tribune(Minneapolis), The News & Observer (Raleigh, NC), R.R.
